Idioms. Doublespeak. Niceties. Filler. Nonsense.

I am a snob. I mean that I hold beliefs about things that don’t really matter all that much, yet I hold them passionately. I am not a snob in general - I don’t hold superior opinions about wine or the environment or music or lots of other things. I am a snob about words - forms of speaking and writing. There is a long list of phrases that make me cringe in pain. In this blog, I will share those with  you and try and explain why I am cringing. Maybe you’ll agree with me and you’ll stop using those painful phrases. Even better, you’ll join my in my snobbery and make those who continue the  affront feel bad about themselves and then they too will stop. Maybe.
